AFAIK McKendrick is a combined invite/minor suit transfer system over 1NT.

Playing 12-14 1NT with McKendrick, a 2NT response shows a 12-point invite.

A McKendrick 2S response to 1NT shows either 11 points OR a bad hand
with a long minor suit, to run away to 3C or 3D.

Opener bids 2NT with 12-13 points (whereupon responder passes with 11pts
or bids 3-minor as a signoff), or 3C with 14 points, whereupon responder
can raise to 3NT with 11pts, pass with clubs or correct to diamonds.

This has the benefits of:
1) Having a way to escape to 3-minor (though not necessarily
right-siding it)
2) More definition to invitational hands.

I learnt this system off an opponent's convention card last year (so
can't promise it's correct) but it's worked fine for me a few times.

Hope this helps.

I have run into it - or something similar - a few times but not seen a
name for it. Thanks.
