Matchpoints, none vulnerable, you hold:

KQJ1054 / AJ / A95 / Q9

in fourth position.

1H - 2NT (unusual for minors) - P - ??

Where do I want to go? If partner is weak, I probably want to play
4S or 5D. If strong, we belong in slam. It wouldn't take much
more than xx x KQJxx AJxxx to give a good play for slam. Can partner
be that good? Would he bid anything but 4C if he was?

If I want to play in spades, I have to bid them now. So the one
possible bid is 4S. Probably the matchpoint place, so there I go.
Not vul, partner could be quite weak.

At IMPS, 3H. Try and see if there is anything there. I raise 5D to 6,
bid 5D over 4 of either minor.

4S

Odds for a 6D are too low to consider for me as I see no way to ask a
question that will tell me anything useful and let me stop in 4S if we
do not belong in slam.

My guess is that 5D is off a lot more often than 4S as well as scoring
badly in MP's so do not want to risk missing 4S.
