In the auction 1H-(2S)-?, assuming simple methods not using 2N as part
of the raise structure, I believe it is pretty normal to play 3H is
constructive, 4H shows limit raise values, and bid 3S with a GF raise.
Please correct me if this is wrong.

It makes little sense to me to have 1C-(2S)-4C show a limit raise, for
all the usual reasons people give to argue 4m should not be an offer to
play 4m.

What are your raises after 1C-(2S)-?

It would be a forcing slam try for me, and having given up on 3N quite a
good one at that as I would start with 3S if I was willing to play in 3N.

1H (bid) 3H is a pre empt for me.

4C in your second example is a slam try in Cs. You could play it as minorwood if you wish.

What is, or should be, the difference between 3S and 4C in this auction? What is 2NT by your standards? It is the total of your agreements that best determine what 4C should be.
